Barry Sinclair and his wife Sharon founded Chanctonbury Healthcare in 1999. Barry previously worked in commercial property in London. Barry and Sharon have spent many years in Spain and Portugal and have developed a multicultural network there.

About Sharon

Sharon Sinclair and her husband Barry founded Chanctonbury Healthcare in 1999.

Sharon qualified as a registered general nurse at St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1986 before going on to attain a diploma in counselling from Northbrook College in 1993.

She is now a qualified nutritional therapist, having studied in the Institute for Optimum Nutrition between 2012 and 2016. Sharon focuses on identifying nutritional imbalances and support clients to manage these to improve health and wellbeing.

Maureen Taylor has been a part of Chanctonbury Healthcare for over 17 years. She has worked as a manager at Queensmead and Oaklands and in 2016 stepped up as Operations Director. Her wealth of experience and knowledge of each of the homes means she is highly qualified to oversee the company as a whole.

About Greg

Greg is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years of experience working with entrepreneur led and owner managed SME businesses across a variety of sectors. His broad experience not only includes working as a Finance Director but also as a COO and CEO allowing him to fully appreciate the breadth of challenges faced by a business from strategy to daily operations. He is passionate about continuous improvement and enabling businesses to achieve their best.

He trained at Pannell Kerr Forster before taking his first commercial role at Regus, the international serviced office provider. Revenues grew from £35m to over £400m during Greg’s time at Regus and he was a key member of the team that led the successful IPO.

Greg joined Chanctonbury Healthcare in March 2017.

About Karen

Karen Pratt joined the team at Oaklands Court in 2013 as deputy manager. In March 2016 she stepped up as registered manager when Maureen Taylor became the Operations Director.

 

 

Karen has been involved in care and nursing work for over 30 years. She worked in the NHS until 1997 when she became a nurse for nursing homes. Before joining Oaklands Court, Karen worked at a Nursing Home as registered manager for 12 years.

Karen is a highly qualified nurse, having worked in both hospital and care home settings for three decades.

Sharon Sugars

About Sharon

Sharon Sugars was the registered manager at Ersham House Nursing home for over 13 years and joined the team at Chanctonbury Healthcare in May 2016.

Sharon qualified as a registered nurse at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield in 1986 after gaining her orthopaedic nursing certificate in 1983. She additionally gainer her ENB 901 in Diabetic Nursing in 1988.

Having worked as a qualified staff nurse in Wakefield and Tunbridge Wells, Sharon worked as the registered nursing sister at Ersham House Nursing Home for four years, until 1993.

She then went on to work as the area manager of the Allied Medicare Nursing Agency before returning to Ersham House as Deputy Matron. Having worked in two other homes as Matron, she returned as registered manager of Ersham House for 13 years.

About Diana

Diana is a Registered Mental Health Nurse having qualified from Brighton University in 2013. Diana has spent the last 5 years working as a qualified RMN in Elderly, EMI and Palliative Nursing and Care Home settings. Diana gained her Mentorship qualification in 2016 and has experience in mentoring student nurses. Prior to this Diana worked for Sussex Partnership NHS Trust for nine years within Brighton & Hove Psychiatric/Psychological Services both in-patient acute and community. Diana joined Chanctonbury Healthcare Ltd in 2017 as Deputy Manager, and through support and development has progressed to ‘Home Manager’ for The Queensmead Residential Care Home since February 2018.’

 

Rebecca Hignett

About Rebecca

Rebecca Hignett attained an upper second class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Lancaster University before joining the Chanctonbury Healthcare team.

 

She initially joined the company as a graduate management trainee before progressing to the role of Associate Manager and in May 2017 became the Development Manager.

In May 2017, Rebecca is commencing a postgraduate certificate course in Leadership and Management in Healthcare, and will subsequently attain a masters degree.

Jane Mills

Training Manager

About Jane

 Jane has been working as a trainer in the care industry for over 15 years. Jane has designed, organised and delivered various training programmes from mandatory training to week long dementia programmes and dignity workshops. Jane is passionate about excellence in care for older people, and is dedicated to innovatively inspiring a care workforce.

Jane is a member of the institute of learning and has an advanced diploma as a dementia advanced trainer, as well as being a dementia friend.

Jane joined the team in August 2017 as training manager. Jane runs the Chanctonbury Academy, an in-house training academy designed to ensure every member of staff is knowledgeable and inspired to deliver excellent care to every resident in our homes.

 

 

Kate Russell

About Kate

Kate joined the team as sales and marketing manager in August 2017. Prior to joining the Chanctonbury team Kate has worked in the hotel and hospitality industry for the past 10 years including hotel groups Elite and Handpicked. Most recently Kate held a Sales position at Buxted Park Hotel in East Sussex.

 

Teresa Preston

Accounts Manager

About Teresa

Teresa has been part of the team at Chanctonbury Healthcare for eight years, having come on board as accounts manager in 2009.

Teresa has worked closely with the head office team over the years to implement IT solutions in the business, and is highly skilled in IT.
