About Barry

Barry Sinclair and his wife Sharon founded Chanctonbury Healthcare back in 1999. During this time they have enjoyed developing a wonderful caring team that share the same high values of care within our community.

Barry and Sharon continue to be fully devoted owners of Chanctonbury Healthcare with a vision for excellence and to drive their business forward.

About Sharon

Sharon Sinclair started her career as a young student nurse back in 1982 studying at St Mary’s Hospital London where she later qualified as an RGN.

“As a young girl I dreamed about becoming a nurse just like Florence Nightingale, her achievements were exemplary and such an inspiration for all young women”

Sharon has continued her quest to help individuals towards healthier & happier lives by studying at the Institute of Optimal Nutrition. She qualified as a Nutritional Therapist in 2016 and will continue to “educate and enthuse, instilling optimum nutrition as the foundation of health for all”

About Greg

Greg is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years of experience working with entrepreneur led and owner managed SME businesses across a variety of sectors. His broad experience not only includes working as a Finance Director but also as a COO and CEO allowing him to fully appreciate the breadth of challenges faced by a business from strategy to daily operations. He is passionate about continuous improvement and enabling businesses to achieve their best.

He trained at Pannell Kerr Forster before taking his first commercial role at Regus, the international serviced office provider. Revenues grew from £35m to over £400m during Greg’s time at Regus and he was a key member of the team that led the successful IPO.

Greg joined Chanctonbury Healthcare in March 2017.

Sandy Atkins

About Sandy

Sandy commenced with Chanctonbury Healthcare in July 2018.  She has worked in care for most of her life starting as a carer at the age of 17 then trained as a Registered Nurse and specialised in orthopaedics at the Royal National Hospital in Stanmore.  She has always been passionate about the care of the elderly and subsequently moved to work into care homes in 1996.  In 1999 She then took time out of nursing to be come a police officer with Hampshire constabulary.  In 2003 she came back into nursing and developed into a registered manager then into operations manager to a Regional director and just prior to starting with Chanctonbury she was Head of Care and Quality commissioning many new care homes and supporting the setting of foundations to develop good care models.  Sandy has had the privilege of working with many large corporate companies which has afforded her the knowledge and experience of the care home industry that she can now share with Chanctonbury.  She was, also during this period of time, a member of the territorial Army with the QARANC reaching the rank of captain before retiring from this role.

About Karen

Karen Pratt joined the team at Oaklands Court in 2013 as deputy manager. In March 2016 she stepped up as registered manager. Karen has been involved in care and nursing work for over 30 years. She worked in the NHS until 1997 when she became a nurse for nursing homes. Before joining Oaklands Court, Karen worked at a Nursing Home as registered manager for 12 years.

Karen is a highly qualified nurse, having worked in both hospital and care home settings for three decades.

About Alison

Alison joined the Chanctonbury team as home manager at Alfriston Court in August 2019. Alison has extended experience in the care sector and is excited for the opportunity to manage Alfriston Court.

Diana Windsor

About Diana

Diana is a Registered Mental Health Nurse having qualified from Brighton University in 2013. Diana has spent the last 5 years working as a qualified RMN in Elderly, EMI and Palliative Nursing and Care Home settings. She gained her Mentorship qualification in 2016 and has experience in mentoring student nurses. Prior to this Diana worked for Sussex Partnership NHS Trust for nine years within Brighton & Hove Psychiatric/Psychological Services both in-patient acute and community. Diana joined Chanctonbury Healthcare Ltd in 2017 as Deputy Manager, and through support and development has progressed to ‘Home Manager’ for Queensmead Residential Care Home since February 2018.’

 

Rebecca Hignett

About Rebecca

Rebecca joined the Chanctonbury Healthcare team in January 2015 after graduating with honours from Lancaster University. Her unique role encompasses development and innovation across the organisation through the implementation, maintenance and expansion of systems, processes, IT and recruitment.

Rebecca ensures that the recruitment process for Chanctonbury is efficient, effective and robust in order to continue building the passionate and caring Chanctonbury team. Proficient across multiple recruitment platforms, Rebecca sources the very best people and ensures that the team are motivated in their jobs. In turn, Chanctonbury boasts an industry-defying low staff turnover.

Rebecca works closely with the marketing manager to oversee Chanctonbury Healthcare’s online presence. This includes maintenance of the website, SEO management, PPC marketing and monitoring of web analytics. Rebecca additionally acts as the IT manager, and project manages IT development across the organisation. Part of this role is the ongoing development of the IT systems used throughout Chanctonbury, including HR management, resident administration and business analysis. Rebecca also focusses on the centralisation of processes for the three homes, and enjoys ‘Chanctonbury-ising’ all documentation to maintain brand recognition and consistency.

Due to her experience working on projects across all departments within Chanctonbury, Rebecca is a unique asset to the organisation and works closely with the whole team to ensure that Chanctonbury Healthcare remains an innovative and exciting place to work and live. Rebecca recently attained a distinction in a postgraduate certificate in Leadership and Management and hopes to continue to attain her master’s degree.  

Jane Mills

Training Manager

About Jane

 Jane has been working as a trainer in the care industry for over 15 years. She has designed, organised and delivered various training programmes from mandatory training to week long dementia programmes and dignity workshops. Jane is passionate about excellence in care for older people, and is dedicated to innovatively inspiring a care workforce.

Additionally, Jane is a member of the institute of learning and has an advanced diploma as a dementia advanced trainer, as well as being a dementia friend.

Jane joined the team in August 2017 as training manager. Jane runs the Chanctonbury Academy, an in-house training academy designed to ensure every member of staff is knowledgeable and inspired to deliver excellent care to every resident in our homes.

 

 

Kate Russell

Marketing Manager

About Kate

Kate is responsible for the development and delivery of marketing plans for the Chanctonbury Healthcare portfolio. As marketing manager Kate oversees the quality and performance of key marketing channels including digital, print production and advertising.

Kate provides support and marketing leadership to each home to monitor and review local marketing activity to drive constant improvement and innovation.

With a proven track record in delivering marketing plans, account management and sales, She supports the operations and sales team in development and training to improve sales techniques, enquiry handling and conversion to drive occupancy and ensure all administration for sales is completed effectively. Kate has set sales targets and activity key performance indicators which she reports on the progress towards sales and revenue KPI’s.

A keen eye for aesthetics and details, Kate is familiar with design software and is able to shape the visual aspects of collateral to ensure graphics and layouts are appealing and on brand.

Kate works closely with the development manager who overseas the website, to publish content and maintain continuity of branding. Kate manages the social media platforms.

Kate is a people person and thrives when connecting with local businesses and members of the community and actively seeks out new opportunities via networking. Kate is an active member of the Wealden Dementia Action Alliance and chairs the Polegate Dementia Forum where organisations work together to create dementia friendly communities.

Kate joined the Chanctonbury Healthcare team in 2017 having worked in a Sales and business development role within the hospitality industry.
