What’s On at Queensmead

At Queensmead, we take care of body, mind and spirit. Our engaging activities schedule is built around our residents so that they get to do the things that they enjoy, from arts and crafts to day trips and visits. While our activities change from season to season, we will always run the weekly and daily activities that give our residents structure and colour their day.

If residents prefer to plan their own time, there’s plenty that will keep them occupied. They could while away a morning getting their hair done or settle in for a Hollywood blockbuster.

Singing is good for the spirit and our singalongs are always popular. With quizzes to keep minds ticking over and encourage gentle competition, we help all residents to stay active – our gardens are the perfect place for a walk and we stay supple with in-chair yoga.

Fabulous Food

At Queensmead, we work hard to make sure that menus are kept fresh and interesting – and our residents certainly appreciate our care and consideration as meal times are always looked forward to!

Our head chef and their kitchen team are dedicated to bringing together the best of local produce, using the finest that the season has to offer and creating mealtimes that are well-loved and special. Using quality ingredients and working to meet all residents’ dietary requirements, our menus are nutritionally balanced and ensure that our residents get the vitamins and nutrients that they need.

While our menus and daily meals are balanced and healthy, there will always be time for a little treat – and at Queensmead, the home-made cakes are a source of great pride. Why not stop for a cuppa and a slice to see how good they are when you visit your loved one?

Cared For and Loved

One of the most important reasons that our residents come to us is that they need some tender loving care. At Queensmead, and across the whole Chanctonbury brand, we take our caring responsibilities very seriously. We know that every resident is different and so we built their care plan and profile around their needs.

As well as tailoring our care plans, we also dedicate our time to being with residents. We will talk to them and listen to what they’re telling us. We’ll pick up when things aren’t as they should be but we’ll also know when it’s time to share a laugh and a smile. Our team are always on hand to talk with residents and we will take care of any issues they raise.

If it’s important to them, it’s important to our team.

Home From Home

Queensmead is a bright and airy home, with lots of shared spaces to sit in and chat with friends from around the home. Our surroundings are very important to the Queensmead experience and so our residents will be able to enjoy the gardens equally from our lounge and sunroom, or from one of our well-appointed garden benches.

In addition to our en-suite bedrooms where our residents can relax and unwind, we have other popular places in the home for our residents like to get together. Our gorgeous tea-room is the perfect place to linger over a freshly-baked scone and catch up with what’s happening while there’s usually something fun happening in the lounge, from an arts and craft session to a visit from some furry friends. Every day, our residents look forward to tasting chef’s fabulous food in our bright and spacious dining room.
