Carer

 

We are currently expanding our care team at Alfriston Court and are looking for a caring and compassionate person to join our specialist team.

Alfriston Court, a part of the privately owned Chanctonbury Healthcare Group is a Residential Nursing Care Home In Alfriston, near to Seaford and Polegate, East Sussex.

An Edwardian style house situated in the picturesque village of Alfriston in the Cuckmere Valley within the Sussex Downs and set in four acres of beautiful lawns and gardens.

The hours of work are 7:30am – 7:30pm, half days are also available and days of work are negotiable.

We are looking for a cheerful and warm person to provide our residents with an outstanding level of care and support. Someone who will engage with our residents, providing companionship and support individuals with day to day activities. They need to be a team player and liaise with all departments within the home.

Experience within a similar job role is preferred but not essential

Night Carer

Alfriston Court is a 26 bed care home with nursing for the elderly in the picturesque village of Alfriston in East Sussex. We are looking for carers for nights, both full and part time.

Package:

  • Various nights available

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist service users who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and the toilet

  • Set up tables and trays, serve meals, feed service users who need help
  • Answer call bells, the door and the telephone, and welcome visitors

Housekeeper

We are looking for a housekeeper to join our team

Package:

  • Part time, 24 hours per week
  • Location: Alfriston Court Nursing Home
  • Reports to: Head Housekeeper

Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure the clean and hygienic maintenance of the home including allocated rooms furniture, fittings, fabrics, carpets and equipment.
  • To clean sanitary and other equipment with particular attention to guidelines for the control of infection and infestation.
  • To report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance or cannot be kept to standard through normal cleaning procedures.
  • To deal with waste bags and their prescribed disposal.
  • To keep documentation up to date

Nurse

We are looking for a nurse to join our passionate team.

Package:

Full and part time roles available.

Shifts from 7:30am – 7:30 pm (half days available)

Location: Alfriston Court, Alfriston

Reports to: Home manager and deputy manager

Key responsibilities:

Creation and management of care plans
Support the nursing care of residents
Care for service users who are temporary sick or needing, for example, minor dressings, bed nursing etc.
Control the issue of medications and maintain the necessary records
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams

Registered nurse (RGN, RMN)

Kitchen Assistant

Package:

  • Part time, 20 hours per week
  • Location: Oaklands Court, Horam
  • Reports to: Head chef

Key responsibilities:

  • To support the Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen.
  • To assist in the economic use of materials.
  • To be aware of the residents dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
  • To prepare food and cook in a hygienic manner.
  • To be involved in the serving of meals.
  • To dispose of waste correctly.
  • To ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention to perishable foods.
  • To obtain/hold a suitable food and hygiene certificate.
  • To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
  • To participate in mandatory training and any other in house training relating to care.
  • To comply with the homes policies and procedures as appropriate to the role of a Kitchen Assistant, to include those relating to the prevention and control of infection.

Company overview: Oaklands Court Nursing Home is a 43 bed nursing home for the elderly in Horam, near Heathfield. We are looking for an experienced catering manager to join our team.

Package:

  • Up to 36 hours per week, weekdays and some weekends
