Registered Home Manager

Alfriston Court is a 26 bed nursing home for the elderly based in the village of Alfriston. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced registered manager to join our team.

About the role:

  • Hours per week: 40
  • Salary: £35,000 + dependent on experience
  • Location: Alfriston Court Nursing Home, Sloe Lane, Alfriston, BN26 5UR

Job responsibilities:

  • To ensure our residents are safe, happy and cared for
  • To develop a strong positive culture across the home
  • To ensure the smooth running of the care home
  • To manage, monitor and audit resident care plans
  • To manage occupancy
  • To manage governance and audits
  • To be responsible for health and safety practices within the home
  • To ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • To support and develop your team of staff
  • To manage and monitor budgets
  • To manage and monitor IT systems
  • To ensure the home is kept CQC compliant

Person specification:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and driven home manager who wants the opportunity to make their mark on a beautiful nursing home. You will be proactive with strong leadership skills, and share our passion for outstanding care and bringing out the best in our team. In addition you will have:

  • A nurse qualification (RGN/RMN) (preferred)
  • Management Level 5 Diploma (preferred)
  • Experience at home manager level
  • Strong IT skills
  • Able and willing to adapt to new care related software
  • A good understanding of CQC legislation
  • A good understanding of budget management
  • Occupancy management skills
  • Proven track record of hitting targets and KPIs
  • Driving license

Carer

 

We are currently expanding our care team at Alfriston Court and are looking for a caring and compassionate person to join our specialist team.

Alfriston Court, a part of the privately owned Chanctonbury Healthcare Group is a Residential Nursing Care Home In Alfriston, near to Seaford and Polegate, East Sussex.

An Edwardian style house situated in the picturesque village of Alfriston in the Cuckmere Valley within the Sussex Downs and set in four acres of beautiful lawns and gardens.

The hours of work are 7:30am – 7:30pm, half days are also available and days of work are negotiable.

We are looking for a cheerful and warm person to provide our residents with an outstanding level of care and support. Someone who will engage with our residents, providing companionship and support individuals with day to day activities. They need to be a team player and liaise with all departments within the home.

Experience within a similar job role is preferred but not essential

In addition to a competitive wage the successful candidate shall also receive;

Housekeeper

– To clean sanitary and other equipment with particular attention to guidelines for the control of infection and infestation.

– To report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance or cannot be kept to standard through normal cleaning procedures.

-To deal with waste bags and their prescribed disposal

-To keep documentation up to date

Housekeeper

Part time roles available.

Shifts from 7:30pm – 7:30 am

Creation and management of care plans
Support the nursing care of residents
Care for service users who are temporary sick or needing, for example, minor dressings, bed nursing etc.
Control the issue of medications and maintain the necessary records
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams

Administration Assistant

Queensmead is a 34 bed care home for the elderly in the centre of Polegate. We are looking for an experienced admin assistant to join our team.

The admin assistant is the first point of contact within the home, ensuring that professional, high quality customer care is delivered in a consistent way. In addition to reception duties completing a high range of administrative duties supporting the manager within their role at all times.

Package:

  • Part time role
  • Location: Queensmead Care Home, Victoria Road, Polegate, BN26 6BU
  • Pay dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet visitors to the home in a professional and courteous way, ensuring the visitors book and the person’s identity is checked as far as reasonably practical.
  • Answer the telephone and respond to enquiries at reception, redirecting calls to relevant staff and recording messages accordingly.
  • Provide administration support to the home manager and staff team on a daily basis, ensuring that the strictest confidentiality practices are followed at all times.
  • Respond to any emergency situations as requested by the home
  • Ensure that confidentiality is foremost in all actions with residents, family members and staff at all times and that any information heard or discussed is not shared with any external parties.
  • Updating and maintenance of resident and staff information software
  • Handling of recruitment processes within the home including DBS checks and contracts

Person Specification

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • IT literacy – competent with the use of systems
  • Previous telephone experience
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Knowledge of general administration
  • Previous exposure to problem solving
  • Good communication skills
  • Neat and well presented as the front line person to the home
  • Excellent written and verbal English
